PILLARS

EMPOWER

Our ultimate goal is to empower the women in our organization and support each other in all of our endeavors. CALI girls are strong and determined, and this organization provides a network of support as we work towards our goals.  One of the ways we plan to accomplish female empowerment is by promoting positive body image and raising awareness about the detrimental effects the media has on our perceptions of ourselves and others.  By promoting positive body image and raising awareness for eating disorders, we can change the statistics of mental illness on our campus and in our community. College-aged females face a unique set of challenges, and CALI provides a shoulder to cry on, a team to celebrate with, and a group of sisters for every moment in between.

LEAD

We aspire for the women in our organization to be leaders on campus and in life.  By serving on committees, every girl has the opportunity to develop crucial leadership skills like public speaking, teamwork, and event planning.  Our meetings feature guest speakers that present advice on career development, resume and interview skills, professionalism, and more.

COMMIT

Commitment is defined as the quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, or organization.  We want our members to be dedicated to the organization, each other, and the Aggie core values.  We strive for our members to be passionate about change, awareness, and the empowerment of people on campus and in the community.  In order to accomplish all of our goals, commitment and dedication is required and is an essential quality we are seeking for in members and future executive members.  Being a member of an organization can be hard work and we require that applicants be passionate about CALI and our mission.

Serving the community, especially the campus community, is definitely important to the members and founders of CALI.  Our pillar of service includes member involvement in our philanthropy, the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA). Being "Collaborative Aggies" means we strive to get involved in other organization's philanthropies and serve our community is as many ways as we can.  Members will have the opportunity to participate in Big Event, Replant, and many other major service projects that happen on campus. Service means we are also there to support and help each other in times of need.
